B&A Pro vs RxPhoto and TouchMD

By the Before & After team · 22 October 2026 · 2 min read

RxPhoto and TouchMD are built for your staff to take photos in the clinic. B&A Pro is built for your patients to take them at home, between visits, and share them with you. They answer different questions, and many clinics will want both. Details are as listed on the App Store and the vendors' sites in October 2026.

RxPhoto

RxPhoto is a clinical photography app for practice staff on iPhone and iPad. Staff follow on-screen capture guides and procedure-based sequences, and its photo ghosting overlays the baseline photo while the after is taken. Photos are stored in the cloud with annotation, side-by-side and slider comparisons, a timeline, consent forms, notes and website galleries. Its patient app is for video visits, messaging and forms, and its listing doesn't describe patients taking their own photos at home. Pricing isn't published.

TouchMD

TouchMD is a practice platform made up of several apps. Staff take photos and video with on-screen overlays in its Snap app and upload them to the practice system, and its Consult app is used on iPad during consultations. Its patient app, which needs an account from your practice, lets patients view their file, sign consents and upload their own pictures, without a capture guide described. Pricing isn't published.

B&A Pro

Your patients use the B&A app at home. It checks their distance, angle and centring before each shot, captures five set poses every session, and shows their last photo so they can match it. They link to your clinic by tapping your stand or scanning your QR, choose which collections you see, and get a reminder when each set is due. In the portal you see the full, uncropped originals, view only, with every view logged.

It costs A$1 to start, A$149 after 7 days, and A$4.99 a month for each patient who links to your clinic, whose B&A you then provide. Patients you only recommend B&A to cost you nothing.

Use your in-clinic system for treatment-day photos. Use B&A Pro for the weeks in between, when your patients are at home and you'd otherwise see nothing until their next appointment. See B&A Pro.

B&A Pro for clinics

Your patients link with one scan, share the photos they choose, and get reminders when the next set is due.
